Last night the butterflies packed suitcases of butterflies in my stomach as attempt 2 to get an open mic slot yielded a result and managed for the first time to perform in America. Natura a coffee and tea bar in the University section of Orlando is a cute little place the size of Boleros in Zimbabwe. I arrived and the MC or host was late but the first act had started, the owners sitting outside with their dog very keen to see me were excited about my first attempt at performing comedy in America. My time was up the MC wasnt there yet so the owner asked me to go and introduce myself on stage and frightfully fearfully I juumped onto this little platform overlooking couches of a few people that had turned out to come and watch. I started performing first a few classics to see if the response to learning about Zimbabwe through my experiences and silly stories would work and it did, some of my favourite one liners didnt carry too well thanks to nerves but I soon hit my stride in the 3rd minute and before i knew it I was a comic in America.
